Atonement - Ian McEwan I don't know whether it's pretentious to like this book, or maybe that's even passé and the new way to be smugly tasteful is to say this book was 'just ok', but fuck all that, historical fiction set in World War II? Turn-on. Beautiful prose? Turn-on. Moral ambiguity? Turn-on. I don't know if other people see it as morally ambiguous, but I did, and this book got me all hot and bothered in a lit way, ok? Ok.
